How to apply

Although application for Speciality Psychiatric training (CT & ST) in England is now co-ordinated nationally, via The Royal College of Psychiatrists and Health Education England, we welcome informal enquires from interested applicants.

If you are a medical student with an interest in becoming a psychiatrist, we would encourage you to apply for a psychiatric post during your foundation year training.

If you haven’t done any psychiatry training in your foundation programme you would need to demonstrate your commitment to the specialty at the application stage. Preferences can be stipulated during the application and these are honoured for the majority of applications, so we would encourage you to place our rotation as your first choice to avoid being disappointed!
